Promise and Legend's Puppies on an outing at 5 weeks!

The puppies had a fun outing in the grass today. They enjoyed playing and socializing with Bailey, our retired labrador, who lives with my parents.

Bailey is so good with them - she just lays down and lets them crawl all over her.

It's a big world out there!

There are also a couple of cute pictures on my website: http://www.labradoodlesatmountainview.com/

Promise and Puppies at 3 weeks

Here are the puppies at 3 weeks! Their eyes are open and they're walking at a low speed wobble. This begins a fun stage where they start to explore and play. First they will begin biting each other's nose and ears and will gradually find the toys to play with.

Promise's Puppies are 2 weeks old now!

The puppies are all nice and content! They should be getting their eyes open this coming week.

These puppies have had plenty of milk and do enjoy nursing. They are pretty quiet most of the time, as their tummys are full.

Promise's Puppies at One Week

Here are the puppies at one week of age. They are very content and satisfied with life right now. Their main focus is to eat and sleep. Promise is doing great with them - she keeps the puppies and their box spotless. Her incision has healed up nicely and you'd never know she had a c-section one week ago.

The puppies are getting plump!

Here are the 2 females.
These are the 3 males.

This is a classic picture of puppies in the "zone" - happy the milk is in!

Promise is very proud of her puppies!

Here's Promise with her litter.

Promise is recovering nicely from her c-section. She's already a great Mom and loves her puppies.

Off to the vet's office for a c-section and the last 2 puppies...

This last little girl weighed in at 8 oz. She couldn't get past her brother, so she came out c-section as well. She's also nice and healthy.

This puppy got himself stuck in the birth canal, so we had to go in and get a c-section to get he and his sister out. He weighed in at 8 3/8 oz. so it wasn't that he was too big - just got double up in the canal and couldn't get out. He's nice and healthy.

They are getting bigger as we go...

It took some pushing to get this big boy out at 11 1/8 oz. He's nice and plump - must be all those meatballs Promise ate while she was pregnant :-)

Puppy number 2 is a girl!

Our first girl born at 9:23 and a nice 9 7/8 oz. She must have been holding things up a bit, as she's quite a bit larger than the first puppy. It's amazing how fast they latch on to those nipples! She's a nice strong puppy.

Here we go with puppy number 1!

This is puppy number one. He was born at 7:45 p.m. and is doing great - already nursing. He weighed in at 6 3/4 oz.

Progress on Promise

This morning Promise's temperature dropped to 98.4. This is what we've been watching for and now she should have her puppies in 24-48 hours! Whoo Hoo! We've all been waiting for this.

The countdown begins... Promise is due this week with her puppies.

Here are some pictures of Promise getting prepared to have her puppies. She has had a bath, blow-dry and hair cut. Her nails are clipped and her bottom has been washed and shaved. We have prepared her whelping box and updated our supply kit... we are ready! Promise has to have her temperature taken twice a day, as we're trying to catch a drop to 98 degrees. Once her temp drops, she should have her puppies in 24-48 hours. Meanwhile she is my constant companion, following me from room to room and snuggling in for some pets whenever I'm available.

Promise will sit for hours with Allison while she sleeps! She's preparing for her own babies, I'm sure!

Promise and Allison

Promise takes every opportunity to get close to Allison. In this photo, it appears Allison is also enjoying Promise! Speaking of "babies" Promise's tummy is getting larger by the day now. She is due in a little over 2 weeks with her puppies.
